Founder of Iconic Berthillon Ice Cream Shop Dies

Raymond Berthillon leaves behind the legacy of establishing the finest ice cream shop in Paris after the Berthillon ice cream shop confirmed that its founder has died aged 90.

A magnet for hot and flustered tourists, the Berthillon shop this year celebrated 60 years since its first scoop and has been run by three generations of the same family since Raymond opened it at the age of 30.

It is still run by the same family and has become known around the world for its ice cream, made only with natural ingredients.

"He made his ice creams only with high quality ingredients: whole milk, eggs, cream that he went to buy at dawn from the Les Halles market," the store's site said.
