The Memo 3D ReChord annuloplasty ring designed by Sorin Group for mitral valve repair procedures has received FDA clearance. This device that is semi-rigid in nature, is an upgrade to the existing Memo 3D ring, now featuring a new chordal guidance system that helps with implantation, particularly in the case of performing artificial Gore-Tex chordae replacement.

Sorin's unique Carbofilm coating covers the ring, which according to the company, improves the hemo-compatibility of the ring and its flexible shape, as the "3D" in the name implies, while staying put within the annulus, allows it to bend along with the heart's motion.
