Donate Life Week On in Australia

As part of Australia's first Donatelife week, Canberrans are being urged to donate organs.

During the Donatelife week, several events have been planned to encourage organ donation and create awareness about the need for organs.

Annual awards will be given to Canberrans who have helped take the cause of organ donations forward.

Close to 77 per cent of Australians wish to donate organs but are unsure about permission from their families.

Nearly 40 per cent of Australians are unaware about the organ donation wishes of their loved ones.
