Conditional Driving License in Britain?

by Savitha C Muppala on August 3, 2011 at 10:12 AM

Those who aspire to get a new driving license in Britain will now have to compulsorily answer a question about organ donation.

This is an effort to cut the waiting times for transplant patients, and critics argue that this is just one step away from forcing people to donate their organs after death.

From now on, all drivers making an application online for a new or replacement license will need to answer a question about organ donation. Earlier, aspirants had the option to skip the question altogether.

This effort seeks to double the list of donors for organ donation and make a big difference to waiting times for transplants.
