Lomitapide Interactions with Food and Herbs

Grapefruit juice: Concurrent use of Lomitapide and Grapefruit juice may result in increased amount of Lomitapide in your body and cause serious side effects (1).

High Fat diet : Avoid eating high fat diet such as meat, cheese, butter with Lomitapide. It will not be as effective and cause side effects like nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain.

Food: Administration of Lomitapide with food may increase the risk of gastrointestinal side effects such as diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia, abdominal pain or discomfort, constipation (2).



Lomitapide Interactions with Alcohol

Drinking alcohol while taking this medication may increase the risk of liver injury by increasing hepatic fat (1).
