How to Take the Medication - Hydromorphone

• Hydromorphone is available in the form of a liquid, a tablet and an extended-release (long-acting) tablet to be taken orally.
• The tablets are usually taken every 4 to 6 hours, while the liquid is taken every 3 to 6 hours.
• The extended-release tablets can be taken with or without food once daily.
• Take the medication at the same time every day for better results.
• Do not exceed or skip a dose. If you miss it, take the medication as soon as you remember.
• Do not double the dose at a time to compensate for a missed dose.
• Withdrawal symptoms: If you suddenly stop using this medication, you may have withdrawal symptoms such as restlessness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, anxiety, loss of appetite, backaches, weakness, stomach cramps and fast heartbeat (2^✔).
