When you meet an Ayurvedic Practitioner (and I refer to myself here) for your initial consultation, they will often begin to explain Ayurveda in the traditional sense. For me, beginning to explain Ayurveda to a westerner with no previous knowledge of the subject can be quite daunting and very difficult at times. (But I am getting better!)
Where do I begin, is a question I often wonder? I usually start with the subject of where Ayurveda came from, the history behind the science, and the philosophical origion.
Read more.. However, more often than not, before to long, I realize that I am being greeted with a look of a sort of skeptism, dis-belief, and confusion all mixed into one. Or they just think that I am plain crazy! But that's ok, crazy is something I am learning to work with!
