TORONTO, March 23, 2017 /CNW/ - In recognition of National Nutrition Month® (March), Toronto-based Dalewood Health and Wellness will provide anyone that has recently added any new prescription medicine to their daily or weekly routine with a free nutrition counselling session in order to properly educate them on how to incorporate the drugs into their diet regimen.

The free health consultations are provided by Registered Dietitians with an aim toward awareness on managing food and drugs.

Simply contact Dalewood's Canada-wide toll free line at 1-866-441-1447, and press 0 to speak with a Client Service Representative to book your free 15 minute consultation. (Longer if needed)

Consultations can be scheduled from now until March 31st and will be provided by telephone or Skype between the hours of 9am and 6pm, Monday to Friday, ET.

Sara Jafari, a Registered Dietitian and the Program Director of Nutrition at Dalewood says, "Something people may not know when they start a new medication is that unfamiliar drugs entering your digestive system may change the way your body processes and absorbs the nutrients in your food. This can cause a potential risk of nutrient deficiency if the recently introduced drug is not allowing you to fully absorb the much-needed fuel from your food."

The theme of this year's National Nutrition Month® is called "Take the fight out of food". It is in essence a concerted push to provide clarity on an important dietary aspect: That people are bombarded daily with conflicting recommendations on how to best improve their health and vitality through proper diet.

Jafari says that "Dalewood just wants to impress upon people that before listening to all the tips and advertisements, one should consult with regulated professionals on the subject at least once. This way, they can make the most informed decision possible regarding their own personal health".

Dalewood will accept bookings until the end of March and provide the free consultations on a first-come-first-serve-basis.
