Why: The Centers for Disease Control have estimated that 300,000 concussions occur due to sports each year, which breaks down to 822 sports-related concussions per day. This includes all levels of play. While these numbers may appear daunting, it is likely that they significantly underestimate the true rate of concussion since most concussive injuries are not brought to the attention of medical personnel.
