Oliver "OT" Thomas, host of WBOK's The Good Morning Show, will join Dr. Danna Andrus, also known as "Dr. Truth" and the founder of Truthlink 2150, Inc., in hosting the 2018 Real Men Conference, scheduled for 10 a.m., June 9, 2018 at the historic Treme Market Branch, located at 800 N. Claiborne Ave., in New Orleans, LA.

Andrus, author of the book Man in the Hood, explained that he created the Real Men Conference to inspire more men to take responsibility for their families and communities. He said the book inspired him to start a movement.

"The Real Men Conference is the first leg of the Real Men Movement," Andrus said. "Man is not stagnant; he's doing something, he's providing something, he's becoming something. What we know as manhood is constantly evolving."

"It's time for men to take their rightful place," Thomas said. "We need more men to step outside of their comfort zones and involve themselves in issues that are important to their communities."

The Real Men Conference, themed "No Holds Barred...Extreme Victory!", was organized to support and inspire young African American men to provide a brighter future for the next generation. The event will include a catered lunch by Chef Jason Lewis, and discussions led by Money Talks guru Ed Marshall, Pastor Antoine Barriere of Household of Faith Church, Bishop Tom Watson, pastor of the Watson Memorial Teaching Ministries, and Damon Crump, CEO of NSPIRE Network. Musical entertainment will be provided by inspirational recording artists NuKreation, Dominic Davis, and Collage'.

"We have speakers from all different areas, all different walks, but when they finish, when the smoke has cleared, we want that same energy and enthusiasm to not be left in that building," Pichon explained.  "We want to create a team of professionals—male and female alike—who are able to come into your church or school and take these ideas of manhood and begin to share them."

Truthlink 2150, Inc. is dedicated to community empowerment through anti-bullying workshops, professional training, and relationship building. It was founded by Andrus to combine his background in ministry and military to address issues concerning family, marriage, relationships, fiancés, youth, health, fitness, school violence, conflict resolution, and bullying. He plans to use the conference to launch a bigger movement that will extend to families and community building.

Tickets for the Real Men Conference are available for $50, or $360 for a table of eight. Tickets can be purchased on Eventbrite.com. For more information, please contact Sinder.media at (504) 782-4629 or Meet the World Image Solutions at (504) 505-5894.
