Friends of Sheba Medical Center, Tel HaShomer is hosting its Anniversary Gala in Los Angeles on Sunday evening, October 14th. Actor Jason Alexander will emcee the gala, which celebrates 70 years of saving lives at Sheba Medical Center, Israel's national hospital, and members of the media are invited to attend this highly anticipated event.

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 3, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Friends of Sheba Medical Center, Tel HaShomer and gala chairs Benjamin Boston and Gal Ben-Naim invite media to attend their anniversary gala on Sunday evening, October 14th, which will celebrate 70 years of saving lives at Israel's national hospital. When Sheba Medical Center was founded in 1948, doctors treated members of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and civilians wounded during the War of Independence. The gala will celebrate Sheba's rich history as it has grown alongside the State of Israel to become an epicenter for cutting-edge medicine and the largest, most comprehensive hospital in the Middle East.

The event's inspiring speakers include Deputy Director of the Edmond and Lily Safra Children's Hospital at Sheba Medical Center Dr. Itai Pessach, who plays an instrumental role in saving children from all over the Middle East. Also speaking is former IDF soldier Ohad Ben-Yishai, who was critically wounded in Gaza during Operation Protective Edge in 2014 and fully rehabilitated at Sheba.

In addition, celebrity host Jason Alexander will interview Prof. Yitshak Kreiss, the former IDF Chief Medical Officer and current Director General of Sheba Medical Center. Also in attendance will be Prof. Mordechai Shani, who served for 30 years as the hospital's director general and two terms as director general of the Israeli Ministry of Health.
