Sunbelt has sponsored the race in their hometown of Chattanooga, Tenn., for several years, and 2011 marks the third year of sponsoring the races of local Komen affiliates across the country. The donations help local affiliates fund breast health education and breast cancer screening and treatment projects for women in their area.

Sunbelt's partnership with local Komen affiliates goes beyond a donation; it is also supported by its employees. The company will once again have representatives participating and volunteering at many of the race events.

Badger said the Sunbelt employees who participated in past events had wonderful experiences and are thrilled to again have the opportunity to be a part of something that is positively impacting the lives of so many people.

"Whether you're a walker, runner, volunteer or just attending a race to cheer someone on, you're making a difference," said Badger. "And as someone who has a breast cancer survivor in the family, it's moving to see so many people come out and join Komen for the Cure in its work to help turn millions of breast cancer patients into survivors."

Sunbelt kicked off its 2011 race tour at the Komen Mid-Michigan Race for the Cure in Lansing on April 17 and ends in Omaha, Neb., on October 2.
