The bike donations are part of the 8th Annual Stater Bros. Charities Kfroggers 4 Kids Radiothon presented by Procter and Gamble, which took place on September 29 and 30, 2009. With every $200 donation that a radio listener made, Stater Bros. Charities and its business partners donated a brand new bike to a 4th grade student. This year's Radiothon raised more than $336,000 for Loma Linda University Children's Hospital.

"Stater Bros. Charities is pleased to be a part of an event that gives our kids the incentive to work harder and do well in school," stated Jack H. Brown, Chairman and CEO of Stater Bros. Markets. "Everyone remembers their first bike and especially while being in the midst of hard times these children deserve a happy memory too."

The students who will be receiving a new bike will gather outside the Arrowhead Credit Union Stadium awaiting the gates to be opened at 12 p.m. The bike recipients are accompanied by their family and friends who watch as they run onto the field to get their brand new bike.

This year, the "world's most famous dog," Lassie will be participating in the festivities. Canine heroine of the Emmy-Award winning TV series, Lassie has been in eleven feature films, a radio show, has been published in multiple languages, and even has her own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!
