NORTH LAUDERDALE, Fla., Sept. 25, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Today Allied Health Institute announced the opening of enrollment for their newest program, the Associate of Science Degree in Nursing. In an effort to meet students' busy schedules, some nursing classes will be offered totally online while other classes will be offered as a combination of on campus and online delivery. This "blended" method of course delivery responds to the need of so many potential students who have always wanted to become nurses, but never had the time to devote to coming to campus. Typically, nursing students must attend college on campus for two years, making it difficult, if not impossible, to continue earning an income while obtaining a nursing degree. Allied Health Institute closes the distance in healthcare education by offering online courses, supplemented by campus based laboratory simulation and clinical coursework during evenings and weekends.
Upon graduation of the 23-month program, students are academically eligible to apply for the NCLEX-RN exam which is one of the requirements for obtaining state licensure as a registered nurse. Additional requirements for licensure are identified by the Florida Board of Nursing.
Allied Health Institute is looking for individuals who have a dedicated interest in learning the art and science of nursing, caring for people within the community, and a wish to become a member of this highly respected and lucrative healthcare profession. The admission representatives at the Allied Health Institute encourage dynamic individuals with a high school, GED, or previous college work or degree to apply to our new and innovative nursing program.
By offering this unique blended online program, Allied Health Institute hopes it can help to alleviate the critical nursing shortage in South Florida. Allied Health Institute graduates will be educated to provide safe, high-quality patient care in a variety of healthcare settings.
Allied Health Institute is institutionally accredited by ABHES and offers financial aid to those who qualify, as well as job placement assistance.
