Christopher Cain, 42, of San Marcos, Texas has launched the EpiVape on the popular crowd funding website Indiegogo to spur interest and contributions to bring this life-altering remedy to a broad market. The campaign has a goal of raising $50,000 in 60 days to fund development. The project link is: http://igg.me/at/epivape.

Central to the concept of the EpiVape is a legal, proprietary vaping liquid of CBD hemp oil imported from certified European farms. This natural oil is carefully extracted from the flowering portion of high-quality, organic industrial hemp plants.

"As we see on the news, families are racing to states that have passed medicinal marijuana laws in order to find relief for their children who are suffering from epileptic seizures," Cain said. "Our mission is aimed at dispensing with old notions in order to foster a new awareness. With EpiVape, CBD oil from industrial hemp plants imported from overseas rather than grown in the United States can be legally shipped and sold in all 50 states, as it is classified as a dietary supplement."

The wearable EpiVape delivery system, with its diamond shape and red-cross logo, has been designed to separate it from negative connotations associated with now-common cigarette-based models of nicotine vaporizers.

CBD hemp oil, or cannabidiol, is one of the compounds in marijuana and industrial hemp plants. It contains only miniscule legal levels of the tetrahydracannibinol (THC) compound that results in a "high" with which marijuana use is most commonly associated.

The startup EpiVape does not grow, sell or distribute any substances that violate United States law or the Controlled Substances Act. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) currently considers hemp-based cannabinoids, including CBD, to be "food based" and therefore legal.
