Express Scripts 2017 Medicare Value and Choice plans offer many ways for retirees to save on their prescription medication needs.  Both plans offer additional cost savings through a preferred pharmacy network – which includes more than 8,200 Walgreens pharmacies nationwide and more than more than 21,000 independent pharmacies – and Express Scripts Home Delivery Pharmacy.

The Choice plan is a great option for beneficiaries who use generics:

  • $0 deductible on Tier 1 and 2 generics
  • $2 copayment for a 31- day supply of a Tier 1 generic medication at a preferred pharmacy
  • $0 copay for a 90-day supply of a Tier 1 generic via home delivery
  • For Tier 2 generics, enrollees pay just $4 for a 90-day supply via home delivery, or $7 for a 31-day supply at a preferred pharmacy.
The Value plan offers a lower monthly premium and $0 Tier 1 generics at a preferred pharmacy after the deductible.

Both plans provide coverage for more than 3,000 of the most commonly prescribed brand and generic drugs, and cover up to 75 percent of the costs, after the deductible, for specialty medications – high-cost drugs that treat complex, chronic conditions.  Our teams of specialist pharmacists and nurses – who have enhanced condition-specific training and experience – offer patients who use these medications with ongoing personalized care and support to ensure optimal health outcomes.

Enrollment is now open for the 2017 plan year, ending on December 7, 2016. Coverage begins on January 1, 2017.  Both the Choice and Value plans are offered in all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico.
