Duane Reade Holdings, Inc. Further Strengthens Management Team With Addition of Frank Scorpiniti, SVP, Pharmacy Operations

NEW YORK, Dec. 8 Duane Reade Holdings, Inc. today announced the appointment of Mr. Frank Scorpiniti, 38, as Senior Vice President of Pharmacy Operations effective December 1, 2008. Mr. Scorpiniti reports directly to John Lederer, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. His appointment adds value and expertise to Duane Reade's capable management team which has recently benefited from the appointments of several other senior executives.

Mr. John Lederer, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, commented, "We are very pleased to have Frank Scorpiniti join our strong management team as Senior Vice President of Pharmacy Operations. Mr. Scorpiniti, a 13-year veteran of the pharmacy industry, comes to Duane Reade from Longs Drug Store Corporation, a West Coast regional pharmacy chain store that recently became a wholly-owned subsidiary of CVS Caremark Corporation. Mr. Scorpiniti held positions of increasing responsibility throughout his career at Longs and most recently served as Vice President of Pharmacy Operations, overseeing all aspects of Longs' pharmacy business.



Mr. Scorpiniti received his doctorate of pharmacy from University of the Pacific in Stockton, California.
