Fertility Services Not Just for the Wealthy, Dr. Paul Magarelli Says

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo., Jan. 28, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- A Colorado Springs infertility specialist highlighted by the Wall

Street Journal for his low fee structure is calling on peers to offer lower prices and be transparent about their fees.

Dr. Paul Magarelli, founder of HQA Fertility Centers, said technological advances allow specialists like him to offer patients lower fees than most practices charge.

"In the early days the pioneers really did have a 'special sauce' that allowed them to offer better results," Dr. Magarelli said. "Now almost every clinic uses the same technology. The cost has come down on the providers' side, but savings aren't passed on to patients. They need to be."

In the spirit of transparency, Dr. Magarelli publishes fees on his website. HQA charges $7,700 for invitro fertilization (IVF), approximately half what other clinics charge. Fees vary by patient, but HQA ensures they understand what these additional fees will add to their overall cost. This fee does not include medication and anesthesia charges.

"It's easy to get confused about what infertility services will cost you. I'm working hard to simplify and demystify the fees we charge for our work," Dr. Magarelli said. "As a profession, we can do much better to explain our charges so people know going in what these treatments will cost."

Dr. Magarelli is also transparent about the IVF process, ensuring patients understand they will likely need two cycles of treatment to achieve a healthy pregnancy.

"This is the national average, so it's important patients understand what it will likely take for them to become pregnant and carry a baby to term," he said.

HQA is known for being more affordable, but Dr. Magarelli is equally focused on providing premium quality infertility care.

"Providing quality care that blends the best of western and eastern medicine – including the use of acupuncture – is at the core of who we are," he said. "Having infertility struggles is stressful, so it's critical we deliver the best care to ensure people are successful in the shortest possible timeframe."
