In mid-September, Berg will leave her current position as Vice President and Nurse Executive with the Gannett Healthcare Group (publishers of Nurse.com). Prior to her work with the Gannett Healthcare Group, Berg was the chief nurse executive for two large hospitals, Kaweah Delta Medical Center in Visalia and Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. Additionally, she has been a hospital-based nurse educator. Berg previously served in state and national nursing leadership roles as the President of the Association of California Nurse Leaders' Board of Directors and in various national leadership positions with the American Organization of Nurse Executives.

"I am eager to take on this new challenge and look forward to working with the CINHC Board, staff, Advisory Committee and current partners to advance CINHC's work in developing sustainable solutions to California's nursing workforce issues," said Berg. In assuming her new role, one of Berg's key objectives will be to create new partnerships to sustain CINHC and its critical work in preparing the workforce to meet the demands of California's changing health care delivery system.
CINHC, a 501(c)(3) organization, serves as the California's nationally recognized nursing workforce center and is located in Oakland, CA. Jones is the founding Executive Director of CINHC, which began its work in 2003 addressing the California nursing shortage.
