R.K. HIV AIDS Research and Care Centre, a Charitable Trust organized a free medical check-up and treatment camp on Sunday, February 19, 2017, to provide healthcare support to the needy. The medical camp was organized in Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) ground at Bandra Kurla Complex.
More than 3 lakh people got benefited from this noble initiative. A team of 5000 doctors from 54 cities across India volunteered and provided free consultation and medicine.
Speaking on these important initiatives, Dr. Dharmendra Kumar, Chairman of RK HIV AIDS Research and Care Center said, "We are on a mission to provide awareness and medical access to the needy. Through our trust, we provided insurance worth Rs. 2 lakh each to all the patients participating at the camp under the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Surakhsha Yojana (PMJSY)."
Mr. Sanjay Vyas, Director of R.K. HIV AIDS Research and Care Centre Charitable Trust, commented, "Because of low income and poor health guidance and support, majority of people are suffering from a lot of problems like dental, malnutrition, obesity, asthma, various skin diseases, eyesight and bone illness due to deficiency of calcium, vitamins, etc. It is quite critical to address their medical and health issues."
Vyas also stated, "It was a proud moment for the entire team, volunteers, supporters and patients to bag an entry into the Guinness Book of World Records and Asian Guinness Book of Records 2017.
