“UMass Memorial wants to make it as easy as possible for physicians and other organizations to work with us,” said Willis Chandler, vice president of business development for UMass Memorial Health Care. “We selected Accenx because their approach to interoperability is comprehensive, flexible, and easily adopted by both small and large physician practices with minimal effort – all essential ingredients to rapid rollout and broad adoption.”

Accenx Exchange is a wide-area integration platform for creating health information exchanges delivered over the internet as a set of secure, interoperability services. Utilizing a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model, Accenx Exchange will enable UMass Memorial to deliver clinical results directly to the physician practices EMR, as well as receiving orders directly from the physician.

“Accenx shares UMass Memorial’s vision and excitement for the potential of connected healthcare to fundamentally improve the quality and efficiency of healthcare delivery in central New England,” stated David Cheng, CEO at Accenx. “Equally important, by delivering interoperability as a service, we allow UMass Memorial to become more connected without detracting from their other equally high priority information technology initiatives.”
