NEW YORK, July 14 Touchstone Health HMO, Inc. announced today that Penelope Kokkinides has recently joined the organization as Chief Operating Officer.

In her new position, Kokkinides will be responsible for planning and directing all aspects of the organization's operational policies, objectives and initiatives. "I am very excited to assume this role and other key responsibilities to meet the strategic objectives of Touchstone Health," says Kokkinides. Kokkinides most recently served as Vice President of Clinical Operations at Aveta, Inc. Prior to that, she was Corporate Vice President for Care Management and Disease Management at AmeriChoice, a business unit of UnitedHealth Group, where she was instrumental in developing and implementing the company's health model. Kokkinides holds a bachelor's degree in biological sciences and classical languages from SUNY-Binghamton. In addition, she received a master's degree in social work from New York University and a second master's degree in public health from Columbia University. She is also in the process of completing her doctorate in public administration.
