The Al Copeland Foundation and Saks Fifth Avenue New Orleans to Host 'Hi-Speed' Fashion Show
NEW ORLEANS, Sept. 8 On Saturday, September 12, 2009, the Al Copeland Foundation (ACF) and Saks Fifth Avenue New Orleans will host the 'Hi-Speed' Fashion Show, a sizzling night of glamour and fun to benefit the Al Copeland Foundation. The Al Copeland Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to researching a cure to eradicate Merkel Cell Carcinoma, a rare and deadly cancer that took New Orleans legend Al Copeland Sr.'s life last year.
This one-of-a-kind VIP night will combine the glitz of a red carpet entrance with a fashion runway show. Partygoers will also enjoy decadent treats and premium spirits from Copeland's Restaurants along with a silent auction. The fashion show will showcase the talents of designers such as Chanel, Burberry, Prada, Diane Von Furstenberg, Rock & Republic, and many more. All proceeds raised from the 'Hi-Speed' Fashion Show will go towards research for a cure and treatment of Merkel Cell Carcinoma.
"The purpose of the 'Hi-Speed' Fashion Show is to raise awareness and funds to cure this deadly disease," said Charli Copeland Womac, co-president of the Al Copeland Foundation. "In memory of my father, Al Copeland, we will be donating 100% of the proceeds raised from this event to Merkel Cell Carcinoma research."
