SUNNYVALE, Calif., July 22 Starion Instruments, a leadingsurgical device company, today announced a non-exclusive distributionagreement with Datascope Corp. to integrate Starion's patented Tissue Weldingtechnology into Datascope's procedural kits for endoscopic saphenous vein andradial artery harvesting.
The driving force behind this new agreement was Datascope's customerdemand for Starion's Tissue Welding technology, which uses direct heat andpressure to simultaneously seal and divide soft tissue and vessels, reducingthe risk of inadvertent collateral damage. Datascope customers now haveaccess to Starion's STLS 23 and STLS 35 Thermal Ligating Shears forunparalleled effectiveness, reliability and versatility during endoscopiccardiac procedures.
