He was previously executive vice president of the Life Science Servicesbusiness unit at SGS, a leading inspection, verification and certificationcompany, and member of the senior executive management team in Geneva,Switzerland. Helge held various management positions at QIAGEN for more than11 years, including Vice President of Molecular Diagnostics, Vice President ofGlobal Strategic Marketing and Vice President of PreAnalytiX, and member ofQIAGEN's executive steering committee and PreAnalytiX´s management committee.

Helge studied biology at the Universities in Kiel, Gottingen, and Munich,Germany, and holds a diploma in biology (focus area of biochemistry) and aPh.D. in molecular biology conducted at the Max-Planck Institute forBiophysical Chemistry from the University of Gottingen, Germany. He is analumnus from the Max-Planck Network and the Columbia Business School.
