LAVAL, QC, Nov. 10, 2017 /CNW Telbec/ - Servier Canada announces that VENIXXATM (micronized purified flavonoid fraction, MPFF), is now available in pharmacies as an over-the-counter oral treatment for patients with mild-to-moderate chronic venous disease or hemorrhoidal disease. VENIXXATM has been extensively tested in various controlled trials and large registries and is currently available in more than 33 countries around the world.
Chronic venous disease of the legs is characterized by signs and symptoms ranging from a sensation of heavy and/or painful legs, night cramps,1spider and varicose veins, edema or ulcers. In the Vein Consult Program2—an international, observational survey completed by 6232 general practitioners, it was estimated that approximately 74% of adults suffer from mild-to-moderate chronic venous disease. "As physicians, we have very few options available for these patients apart from mechanical treatments such as compression stockings and endovenous procedures.
