RALEIGH, N.C., Nov. 9 PRA International, a leading Clinical Research Organization, will participate in the 2009 American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) Annual Meeting and Exposition to be held on 9 -12 November at the Los Angeles Convention Center in Los Angeles, CA, USA. PRA will be exhibiting at booth number 2519 and leadership from its Bioanalytical Laboratory and Phase I Clinic will be in attendance. Leading PRA's delegation will be Peter Ketelaar, MSc, Vice President of Laboratory Services. Berend Oosterhuis, PhD, Scientific Director for Early Development Services in the Netherlands, will present a poster on GMP for Early Exploratory Clinical Studies. During his presentation, he will reflect on the reasons why early clinical studies do not work without flexible, on-site, small-scale, GMP manufacturing. At PRA, Dr. Oosterhuis acts as an internal and external consultant for issues concerning drug development and regulatory affairs. He is a trained pharmacist and has authored or co-authored more than 85 scientific publications in the fields of bioanalysis, pharmacokinetics and clinical pharmacology in peer-reviewed scientific journals. In support of drug registration, he is the author of expert opinions and expert reports.
