The honor was announced in the July/August issue of PharmaVOICE, which annually pays tribute to the top leaders in all areas of the pharmaceutical industry. Candidates were nominated by peers, then evaluated by a panel of PharmaVOICE editors on their proven ability to inspire, motivate and influence greatness in corporate leadership, research and development, technology, creativity, marketing and strategy within the life sciences. Nominees were also evaluated on their forward-thinking contributions both to their companies and to the industry as a whole.

"Laura Marsh Lynner is a consummate professional who consistently demonstrates integrity, compassion, sound leadership ability and class," the PharmaVOICE editors wrote. "Her abilities to create a vision, build the environment to support the vision, and focus energies to a common purpose have led to the formation of a team of positive, enthusiastic, and innovative leaders."

Noting that Lynner has experienced the life sciences from many vantage points -- including as the founder of a consumer healthcare publishing company later sold to the New York Times and as a breast cancer survivor who embraced integrated wellness techniques as part of her therapy -- the editors describe her as a firm advocate of consumer education and the guiding force behind Scientific Voice's support of patient-to-patient and nurse-to-patient speaking programs.

The editors also cited Lynner's personal attributes as reasons for her selection to the PharmaVOICE 100, noting that while she thrives on change and moves fluidly between complex tasks involving multiple disciplines, she always maintains a centered, calm demeanor. "On a professional and personal level, Ms. Lynner has a knack for handling even the hardest of days with maturity, humor and humanity," they wrote.

"Being named to the PharmaVOICE 100 is a tremendous honor, and I thank everyone involved in conferring it as well as everyone whose vision, leadership and accomplishments have made my own achievements possible," Lynner said.
