She led the creation of a joint strategic plan for Hospice of Michigan and the newly affiliated Arbor Hospice. She also led new business development opportunities for Hospice of Michigan's palliative care service line and was responsible for the operations of both the Hospice of Michigan Institute, the organization's hub for education, training, research and innovation, and the Anchors Programs for Children, which provides pediatric perinatal care, palliative services, pediatric hospice, and family support services throughout Michigan. Brooks' career also includes leadership positions with Arbor Hospice and the Visiting Nurse Association of Southeast Michigan. She is a past Chair of the Hospice & Palliative Care Association of Michigan.

"With a record of achievement in strategic planning, business development, advocacy and fundraising for community-based, mission-driven hospices, Gloria is a great match for the Colorado Springs community and Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care," said Doug Flinn, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care.

Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care services also include a robust palliative care and consultation program, its own pharmacy providing specialized pharmaceutical care for its patients, and comprehensive grief support for adults and children. The organization also participates at the highest level in We Honor Veterans, a national program jointly developed by the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization and the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care affiliated with Denver-based Care Synergy in April 2016.

Brooks will be only the third leader in the history of Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care. A Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, she holds a Master of Public Administration with a minor in Nonprofit Management from Oakland University, Rochester, MI, and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Evansville, Evansville, IN, with a major in Art Therapy.

"I want to thank the Pikes Peak Hospice & Palliative Care Board of Directors, Pikes Peak Hospice Foundation Board of Trustees, the Care Synergy Executive Team, and the leadership circle at Pikes Peak for their support and confidence as we create the next chapter for Pikes Peak's own journey," Brooks added.

Formed in 2014, Care Synergy is the region's largest end-of-life care network. Care Synergy's affiliate organizations continue to operate as distinct and independent, not-for-profit mission-driven hospice and palliative care organizations while working together to share best practices and serve more Coloradans along the Front Range.
