Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) will release A Call for Action: Enabling Healthcare Reform Using Information Technology, a detailed report outlining specific priorities and recommendations for the 111th Congress and the Obama Administration for cost-effectively integrating health IT into healthcare reform proposals.

WHY: To ensure that health IT is appropriately addressed in anticipated healthcare reform policy in 2009, HIMSS convened the Healthcare Transformation through Health IT Workgroup to develop unified recommendations for the new Congress and Administration concerning the role of health IT in healthcare reform. The Workgroup's recommendations represent necessary measures to develop and sustain a robust health IT infrastructure.
