GILBERT, Ariz., Jan. 8 Gilbert Hospital expects patient volume at its hospital to increase slightly compared to 2009. Conservative planning and continued easing of the nationwide economic unrest have officials at the hospital optimistic about the 2010 calendar year for this community-based hospital.

"We are expecting smaller growth and continue to monitor the health climate of not just the east valley, but the state and the nation," said Randy Calvert, Chief Financial Officer of Gilbert Hospital. "We are developing programs that should help us maintain and increase patient volume in certain sectors of the population. The hospital's 'Door to Doc in 31 Minutes' success rate of almost 99% is an on-going positive factor and responsible for the hospital's continued success," continued Calvert.

Not only should the emergency services patient volume grow slightly, so too should the in-patient services and elective surgical services. Overall, Gilbert Hospital looks to continue to gain momentum in the healthcare marketplace of the southeast valley.
