The Royal Society for the encouragement of Arts, Manufactures andCommerce, also known as the Royal Society of Arts (RSA) has welcomed Phanish Chandra, CEO Docplexus, into the select organization in recognition for his outstanding contribution to Indian healthcare.
Founded in 1754 and granted the Royal Charter in 1847, London-based RSA is a 29,000-strong community from over 80 countries committed to work together to bring about positive social change through innovation and constructive action. It selects entrants on the basis of their merit, creativity and their initiative's alignment with society's goals.
Phanish founded Docplexus in 2014 with an aim to improve medical outcomes in India and this goal defines all of the organization's initiatives. Today, Docplexus is the largest community of medical professionals with 2,50,000+ doctors across 94 specialties and 1,500 towns and cities. It is proving to be a game-changer in the healthcare landscape, bridging the distance between doctors, enabling knowledge-sharing by exchange of patient cases, area-expertise and latest developments in medical sciences.
To help medical associations create awareness and educate a wider set of doctors, Docplexus has successfully allied with key bodies in the country such as the National Centre for Disease Control, Indian Public Health Association and Academy of Family Physicians of India.
Recently, it concluded the final details of its partnership with Maharashtra State TB Cell. Dr. Sanjeev Kamble, Joint Director and TB Officer - Government of Maharashtra, notes, "TB continues to be a major Public Health problem in India devastating countless lives every year. This new association with Docplexus will give us a digital platform to maximize our efforts in spreading awareness about the disease within the medical community; promoting better health and well-being in the population."
Joining in the ranks of the likes of Karl Marx, Adam Smith, Charles Dickens, Stephen Hawkings, Tim Berners-Lee and Benjamin Franklin, Phanish states, "Docplexus has been personally very close to me and has been a product of a deep sense of ushering in a change to how medical professionals collaborate in India, plugging in gaps in order to improve medical treatment given to patients. It is an honour to win recognition from such a prestigious and historic society as the RSA, for my efforts in this regard."
Pune-based Docplexus, founded in 2014, is India's largest online community of doctors. The platform is available on the web and also for the mobile. Physicians use Docplexus to interact with peers and seniors. They discuss complex cases and update themselves with the latest advances in the medical field.
