WASHINGTON, Oct. 24 The American Beverage Association (ABA) looks forward to working with the 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans Advisory Committee to ensure that every day Americans are given realistic and achievable dietary and hydration recommendations that are based on sound science.
As a leader on health, wellness and health literacy issues, America's non-alcoholic beverage industry provides a bevy of beverage options that can provide nutrition and hydration and be part of a healthy, balanced lifestyle.
The Dietary Guidelines are an integral component of how the federal government speaks consistently on nutrition issues and aid in promoting good health among the American public. As a valuable resource to Americans, these recommendations should encourage consumers to consume a variety of foods and beverages in moderation, stay hydrated and engage in regular physical activity.
We look forward to sharing science-based information with the Committee as they work to update the current recommendations and foster healthy lifestyles for Americans.
The American Beverage Association is the trade association representing the broad spectrum of companies that manufacture and distribute non-alcoholic beverages in the United States.
