FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla., July 15 AT&T Inc.(NYSE: T) today announced a gift of $50,000 to United Way of Broward County,FL.
The United Way of Broward County, FL will use the gift to continue itswork to create long-lasting community change. Nationally, the organizationworks to advance the common good by focusing on education, income and health.
In Fort Lauderdale and the surrounding areas, the United Way has a recordof supporting projects that address the basic building blocks of a good lifefor the citizens of Broward County. For example, last year, the organizationfunded local non-profit agency programs that focused on assessing problems,researching solutions and measuring results, along with funding community-wideinitiatives such as the Day of Caring in which more than 800 volunteersrenovated a local children's center that is home to some of the mosttechnologically dependent children in the country.
According to Ray Williams, president and CEO of United Way of BrowardCounty, "United Way of Broward County is focusing our resources on achievingkey community outcomes and investing in those strategies that will helpBroward County by addressing the root causes of important issues affecting usall."
