In Fort Lauderdale and the surrounding areas, the United Way has a recordof supporting projects that address the basic building blocks of a good lifefor the citizens of Broward County. For example, last year, the organizationfunded local non-profit agency programs that focused on assessing problems,researching solutions and measuring results, along with funding community-wideinitiatives such as the Day of Caring in which more than 800 volunteersrenovated a local children's center that is home to some of the mosttechnologically dependent children in the country.
