protect patients and promote patient-driven personal health records at 79thConvention WHO: The American Health Information Management Association WHAT: 79th Annual Convention & Exhibit WHEN: October 6, 2007 to October 11, 2007 WHERE: Pennsylvania Convention Center Philadelphia, PA DETAILS: AHIMA will hold a news conference (Monday, October 8, 1:00 p.m., EDT) to announce a nationwide Personal Health Records awareness campaign. That will help Americans get directly involved with the development and maintenance of a personal health record. The campaign will target: -- parents raising children -- seniors -- people living with a chronic illness -- family caregivers The AHIMA House of Delegates will consider a resolution on personal health records that seeks to "charge health information management (HIM) professionals with the responsibility of creating and maintaining their own personal health record." The AHIMA House of Delegates will consider a resolution on diversity that seeks to "advance AHIMA's commitment to a culture that respects diversity throughout its organization, the federation and the HIM profession at large."
