Welcome to Therapeutics 2003: 1ST Congress of the International Society of Therapeutics.

On the behalf of the Organizing Committee, I am pleased to announce the 1st Congress of the International Society of Therapeuticsand the XVII Congress of the Latin-American Association for Pharmacology: "Therapeutics 2003". The Congress is co-sponsored by the Latin-American Association of Pharmacology and Therapeutics, the Inter-American Society of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, and by the Portuguese, Spanish and Venezuelan Societies of Pharmacology and Therapeutics. The Congress will be held in the city of Caracas from October 28 to October 31 of 2003. World leaders in these disciplines have been invited and nearly 2000 delegates are expected to participate. 

The meeting will focus on new drug entities and major therapeutic breakthroughs. Symposia will be designed to combine basic sciences with applied pharmacology and therapeutics. This meeting is geared to practitioners involved in primary care, specialty practitioners interested in rational drug therapy, to those working in basic pharmacology and experimental therapeutics, clinical research, clinical trial design and conduction, drug development, drug safety reporting and toxicology, and to the pharmaceutical organizations. A commercial exhibition will be important part of the meeting, where delegates will interact with national and international pharmaceutical organizations involved in drug development and marketing. 

The congress will include courses, conferences, symposia, plenary sessions, debates, medical alert tips and guided poster presentations. The Presidential lecture on the opening night will fire-up the Congress. Satellite symposia on drug therapy will be offered. The Organizing Committee welcomes your active participation in the Congress, as well as suggestions for conferences and symposia.
