NO, this apex body should have representations from the top 20 medical colleges in the country ( from all four zones - North, south, east, west), all the major medical associations and societies like IMA, Indian Society of Surgeons, Orthopdics urology, cardiology, cardiac surgery etc., top 20 medical university from all regions; rather then nominated members - the executive committee should have a term of 2 yrs. A uniform standard of education in the country is important. the licensing authorities should be a separate body.

HEALTH MINSTER IS NO WAY CONNECTED WITH MEDICAL COUNCIL OF INDIA.
JUST BECAUSE ONE PERSON HAD COMMITTED A MISTAKE MEANS THE COUNCIL SHOULD NOT BE SCRAPPED.
IT SHOULD BE ON THE SHOULDERS OF ALL THE DOCTOR MEMBERS

I am surprised How MCI could function so autocratically dictating terms to the whole medical fraternity country wide with impunity and one single individual who is an epitome of corruption could rule it with an iron hand and not just that trying to impose morality and discipline on doctors. What a farce?
