What are the different kinds of malarial diseases?

Symptoms of Malaria appear after 7 to 40 days following a Mosquito bite.

  • 9 to 14 days for Plasmodium (P.) falciparum.
  • 12 to 18 days for P. vivax and P. ovale.
  • 18 to 40 days for P. malariae.

Based on the symptoms produced Malaria can be classified as

  • Uncomplicated Malaria
  • Mild/Classical Malaria
  • Severe Malaria
  • Malaria Relapses

Early diagnosis and treatment can give effective treatment.
