1. My Vulvar cancer was completely cured by treatment. Will it recur?

Unfortunately, we can never rule out a relapse (return) of Vulvar cancer even after complete treatment. Hence, it is vital that you get regular follow-up tests as advised by your doctor.

2. Does surgery for Vulvar cancer have attached complications with it?

Complications following surgery include infections, or delayed or problematic healing of incisions made during the surgery. Since the Vulvar padding is lost partly or completely, sitting may be uncomfortable. Achieving sexual orgasm during intercourse may not be possible.

3. Is Vulvar cancer preventable?

Not all causes of Vulvar cancer are preventable. HPV and HIV infections are however preventable to an extent by adhering to safe sex practises. These infections can place one at an increased risk of Vulvar cancer. Early diagnosis and treatment of Vulvar cancer can be of great help in preventing the spread of the cancer.
