Diagnosis of Myopia

Myopia is diagnosed through:

  • Visual acuity test- A myopic can easily read the Jaeger eye chart i.e. the chart for near reading, but has trouble reading the Snellen eye chart i.e. the chart for testing distance vision. Eye drops are administered especially in children to relax the eye muscles and obtain the correct number during eye testing.
  • A phoropter or retinoscope is used to determine the power of the lenses that allow the clearest vision during a comprehensive eye examination.

Sir,
My daughter is myopic(-1&-7.5). Should she wear glasses throughout the day or only while watching TV? When can she start wearing contacts(she is going to be 19 soon)?

littlebit

she should wear her glasses right through the day or get lenses, because lenses, you dont have to take off any thing, unlike glasses

I would recommend to try natural therapy at your nearest center as it has no side effects and is 100% risk free.

This is not due to any intake problem. Firstly is there a family history of poor vision? Secondly at that age the best prescribed opinion for you would be natural therapy.
