Applications of Radioisotope Scan
Determination of blood flow to the brain
- Evaluation of the function of specific organs such as the liver, lungs, heart or kidneys
- Assessment of bone growth
- Predict the outcome of surgery and to assess the changes or response to treatment
Isotope Scan by itself does not provide a very good anatomic description of the organ evaluated. However, it forms a valuable tool when combined with other tests to confirm the diagnosis
