Pre-Cancerous Lesions - Treatment

Treatment

The treatment of these conditions varies with the clinical presentation. In some cases, the dentist will advise for a test called a biopsy in order to confirm that the lesion isapre-cancerousone. After the report arrives, either the patchin leukoplakia or erythroplakia is cut off or some medicine is given to apply on that affected area.

The treatment of Oral Submucous Fibrosis is slightly different. A course of Vitamin A and E is given for a period of 30 days in patients with localized conditions. However, if large areas of the cheek and lips are involved, scleorising injections to loosen the tight fibers are given.
