Glossary

Exophthalmous: Bulging eyes as seen in thyroid disorders.

Goitre: Chronic enlargement of thyroid gland.

Thyroiditis: Inflammation of thyroid gland.

Palpitations: Awareness of one's own heart beat.

Thyroidectomy: Surgical removal of the thyroid.

Euthyroid: Normal thyroid state.

Tachycardia: Increase in heart rate.

I am having TSH level of 0.01 and have been diagnosed hyperthyroid. My doc prescribed thyroxin 50 for 3 months, another doc says that throxin is used in hypothyroid only please suggest whether i can take thyroxin 50 or not?

I HAVE BEEN HAVING HAIR COME OUT BY HANDFULS HERE LATELY. I AM ON 7.5 OF THYROID MEDICINE. COULD THIS BECAUSING MY HAIR TO DISAPPEAR?
