Diagnosis of Amblyopia
Early eye check up by the ophthalmologist will help to detect amblyopia.
Detection of the disease is sometimes difficult because one eye has normal vision. Regular eye checkup in children below the age of six years can detect and prevent amblyopia.
The most important diagnostic tools are the special visual acuity tests other than the standard letter charts used by the eye doctor.
When amblyopia is suspected, the doctor will evaluate the following:
- Vision
- Eye alignment
- Eye movements
- The brain’s ability to blend two images into a single image

Nice blogging, about lazy eye. It generally affects 3-5% toddlers or infants below six years of age. It may lead to permanent loss of vision. If we take care then we can protect our eye from Amblyopia. Now age is not the barrier for the treatment of Amblyopia. Now it can be treated after the age of 9 with neurvision technique.
Hi.I am 51 year old man,i have the same problem. Can you help me please?I need find this doctor. very serious,Thank you
I am a 51 year old woman that has been wearing a thick left lense since the 6th grade because of Amblyopia. All these years even as an older teenager I was told that in order to correct this I should have been patched and worked with as a young child. A couple of months ago I went to my Eye Doctor and we talked about my lazy eye again. He told me he could help me. Last Wednesday I had eye surgery inserting an artificial lens and I am back at work today. My sight went from 20/400 to 20/40 in my lazy eye. It is amazing what I wasn't seeing and it it wonderful the things I am seeing. Crisp.....everything is crisp. I don't know all the medical terms for what my doctor did, but if you would like more information I am getting all my paperwork together and I will be more informative a little later. My email is peopleperson1@cox.net.

amblyopia is not a disease, and if you have that problem, you have to go and see an optometrist for some visual therapy coz unfortunately at your age its very hard to reverse it
