Other side of the coin:err fish

There has been a raging debate over fish consumption and mercury poisoning. Lot of people avoid fish propelled by the fear of being affected by mercury. Of you consume fish do not feel that you will fall ill. Over time mercury might accumulate in the body and be harmful for the nervous system, leading to learning difficulties in children. It might also cause low birth weight and delay in physical development. Therefore pregnant women are specifically asked to be cautious. Still some considerations while consuming fish help to avoid this eventuality and protect from mercury poisoning.

Do not eat shark, swordfish, king mackerel, ray fish, southern blue fin tuna or tilefish as they contain high levels of mercury.

Fish foods low in mercury are shrimps, canned light tuna, salmon, pollock and catfish.

Never take fish caught from polluted water.

While this subject can be very touchy for most people, my opinion is that there has to be a middle or common ground that we all can find. I do appreciate that youve added relevant and intelligent commentary here though. Thank you!
