Glossary

Prion: A prion is an infectious protein particle. A prion with an altered conformation can cause diseases like Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD) and fatal familial insomnia.

Neuron: A neuron is a nerve cell that participates in the transmission of signals (chemical and electrical) through the nervous system.
