Glossary

Sebaceous Glands: Secretary glands of skin that open into hair follicles and skin pores and are widely distributed on the body.

Sebum: Fatty substance secreted by sebaceous glands to lubricate the skin.

Retinoids: Vitamin A or a vitamin A-like compounds

Contraceptives: Prevents pregnancy.

Steroids: Drugs used to relieve swelling and inflammation.
