My sister had appendix, the doctors operate her and discharged her after a week she found that she do have pains and have to go to hospital, the doctors find that she do have infection now its been a month and the doctors decide to discharge her again, they said they will give her instructions on how to clean the infection, the operation is not closed they said she can stay 3 to 4 months with this kind of situation, we are not sure what to do, whether we must hire a special doctor or what, please help
Its been a week since my dads removal of his appendix and today he said he drank water and it was leaking out of his incision. What does that indicate ?
This can indicate a number of things. Most likely he just has fluid in his peritoneum [abdominal cavity] that is forced out of the incision when the stomach expands. It could also be that the appendix was not ditched up properly but that is unlikely and would be accompanied with pain. I suggest you see your doctor/surgeon as soon as possible.
My daughter had appendectomy 3 days ago and is doing pretty well. It was laproscopic and has 3 tiny incisions, one on her belly button and two more about 2 inches under. It was an emergency surgery and was sent home without follow up instructions, she has appointment to see the doctor in 3 weeks. They left small pieces of tape covering her wounds. And she now wants me to remove the tape and clean the wounds. What do ya think?
Hi, I had my appendix out 1 month ago, I am still getting a persisting pain, been back to the doctor's and they said I need another two weeks off work, he felt my stomach where the pain was and I almost cried with pain, he said he was puzzled with why I was still feeling pain and said if the pain hurts when doing something 'don't do it', now does anyone know when I will feel better? Iam getting bored of not being able to do anything, I want to get back to work and back to competing horses. Any ideas anyone?
Hope it wasn't done in Florida. Hate to say it, but it doesn't seem any doctor/surgeon knows what they are doing. After an appendix ruptures, nothing for 24 hrs. - then small water, clear liquids, and light solid foods. Activates after a wk., should be light walks and lifting, driving, showers, etc. But sorry to say, medical staff in Florida do NOT seem competent!
please my sister is still having pains after the appendix operation she is feeling cold and she is very weak
