What are the symptoms associated with Salmenellosis?

The most common symptoms of Salmonellosis are diarrhea, abdominal cramps and fever.


Symptoms of Salmonellosis may resemble those of other illnesses. Therefore a proper evaluation is required.

Some of the most common symptoms are the following-

  • Diarrhea
  • Headache
  • Fever
  • Abdominal cramping or tenderness
  • Loss of appetite
  • Decreased urine output
  • Body pain
  • Dry mouth

At times, Nausea and Vomiting may be present

Some complications associated with the condition include-

  • Severe dehydration, especially in infants, due to diarrhea.
  • Meningitis / septicemia, due to possible food poisoning by Salmonella.
