III. Monoclonal Antibody Therapy
Monoclonal antibodies are designed in a laboratory to target specific cells.
Rituximab is the most common monoclonal antibody therapy.
This therapy may be used in combination with chemotherapy.
IV. Radioimmunotherapy
Radioimmunotherapy makes use of monoclonal antibodies to deliver radiation to the malignant cells. The antibodies attach themselves to a cancer cell and directly deliver a dose of radiation.
This mode of treatment has been employed to treat certain types of B-cell lymphoma when it recurs or if the lymphoma does not respond to other treatment.
